Overview
Chapwani Private Island offers an exclusive island holiday and is ideal for honeymooners or guests seeking a peaceful and intimate lodge offering personalized service. The island is situated just over a mile from the coast to the North West of Stone Town, a world heritage site, from where guests will take a 15 minute boat trip to Chapwani Private Island. Chapwani offers only ten rooms catering for a maximum of 20 guests at a time ensuring personal attention and superb service at all times. The lodge offers a traditional African-feel decorated with traditional local art and furniture. The island is approximately 800 metres long and 200 metres wide and offers cosy intimate coves with white sandy beaches and beautiful coral reefs. The island is characterized by lush tropical vegetation of baobabs, palm trees and passion fruits as well as wildlife.

Activities
Chapwani Private Island offers ideal swimming and snorkelling conditions. The diving near Stone Town is fantastic for inexperienced divers. The best diving from the Zanzibar islands is off Pemba or the Southern island of Mafia which both offer sites of world renown. Guests can also enjoy canoeing and four canoes are available, which can be used to explore the coast around the island. Beach volley ball can also be enjoyed as well as archery and petanque balls. Trips with the local fishermen and sailing can be arranged.
