Step back into history, into Zanzibar historic Stone Town, where sultans once occupied palaces along the Indian Ocean. Your tour begins with spice tour which involves visiting spice area to see and learn different spices, and even a chance to taste. Then we continue on to the ruins of Maruhubi Palace, built by Sultan Barghash in 1880 to house his harem but later burned to the ground in 1899.
History blends with scenic beauty in Mangapwani Village, the "Arab shore" of Unguja and the former property of a wealthy Arab who dealt in the island's slave trade. Explore several of the area's slave caves, including the popular "Coral Cavern". Relax the afternoon away on Mangapwani Beach, and return to Stone Town aboard a local dhow (traditional sailboat).
